group learning to read

Read what Off the Page customers have to say...

"As a teacher in charge of a special needs unit for 13 - 21 year old boys, I was really impressed to see reading material on high interest topics. These ebooks have been written with our students’ literacy needs in mind using photos that they, as teenagers, can relate to."

Sue Osborne, Head of Special Needs Unit

"I love how you have used photographs of young people to illustrate the stories.  I appreciated being asked what subjects my  19 year old son would like."
Kaye McDowell, parent.

"Off the page create high interest and attractively presented e-books and literacy activities  which suit a range of learners. As a Learning Support teacher, my teenage students respond well to the relevant topics and seeing other young people interacting and learning in a wide range of contexts.  For struggling readers, it is nearly impossible to get age appropriate resources that match their current reading level. Each reader has a range of follow up activities to extend comprehension and develop core skills. I love that the books can be read on a device or printed out according to what works best for the individual student. This is a real example of kiwi ingenuity and I’m so proud that Off the Page books are available worldwide."

"We find the resource very useful for students who are still reading at emergent level but are no longer in the junior school wanting to read the junior readers.  The topics are age appropriate for older students and we get engagement and focus from the students reading the books.  The  photos are very appealing and engaging also.  The follow up work is also helpful for teachers to leave work for Teacher Aides to do with the student throughout the week."
